Darvon Park is a tract in Santa Clara that was built in the late 1950’s. It was built in two stages really. East of Bowers and west of Bowers shortly after.
Unlike many typical tracts in Santa Clara Darvon Park features several different floor plans, elevations, the homes were built with post and pier foundations, featured a two story model, and with designed with central forced heating. The lots were typically 6000 Sq. Ft. but varied depending on location. Like most homes built in the 1950’s the size of the home varied from 1,100 Sq. Ft. to 1,550 Sq. Ft. small by today’s standards.
By many standards Darvon Park is a quality built tract of homes on the north side of El Camino and offered convenient access to jobs, walking distance to all schools, and shopping.
I recently listed a home on Taper Avenue in the Darvon Park neighborhood. This is a common four bedroom floor plan that features a spacious living room, large eat-in kitchen, 2 baths, and spacious 2 car garage. One of the unique features of this property is the large 8,000 Sq. Ft. corner lot. The home is situated in such a way that it can easily be expanded on both sides to include a large family room and larger bedrooms.
If you are considering Santa Clara and want a good neighborhood and well built home for around $600k Darvon Park is a great option.
